Shafique Ballim

Shafique completed his Honours Degree in Finance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg. Upon completion of his articles, he joined the media industry in Johannesburg.

Shafique’s key role over the past fifteen years has been aligning group strategy with the objectives of the company, leading core business activities and strategic initiatives. This included providing management and financial support to a broad range of clients in the media, hospitality and sporting industries as well as providing a strategic consultancy service to various clients. The fundamental knowledge gained in various aspects of the business enabled Shafique to be an integral part of the organisation. He joined the Diagnostech team as Financial Manager, and now acts as Financial Director, and hopes to broaden his knowledge in the genomics and pathology industry and ultimately contribute to the vision, strategic goals and overall growth of the business.

In his spare time, Shafique enjoys a fitness routine including running and cycling as well as travelling, spending quality time with his family and a good soccer workout with his two sons.
