Candice Mortlock

Candice began her studies at the University of Cape Town completing a BSc in Biochemistry and Genetics. After completing her BSc Honors degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Cape Town, Candice began her NGS career at the Centre for Proteomic and Genomic Research (CPGR).

She spent four years working at the CPGR, and gained valuable NGS and wet-lab experience, performing human diagnostic tests such as NIPT, HLA Typing and Whole Exome Sequencing. Ultimately being promoted to Senior Technician and oversaw the laboratory operation of the NIPT offering.

In 2021, Candice joined Diagnostech as a Technical Sales Specialist, supporting the Molecular portfolio. She aims to use her extensive laboratory skills and knowledge to provide the best possible service to our customers and provide support to the Diagnostech team.

Candice is an animal lover who enjoys the outdoors, listening to music, and having fun with family and friends.
