SARDA

The Gauteng Branch of The South African Riding for the Disabled Association is part of a national body and is a registered non-profit organisation that provides therapeutic horse riding to physically and mentally challenged children and young adults, irrespective of their race, creed or financial background.

SARDA welcomes donations from private individuals, clubs, groups, businesses and charitable trusts. Donations can take the form of purchase of equipment, a contribution to the cost of riding lessons or donation of materials. For more info, please view their website.

Gerald Fitzpatrick House and Nursing Home

Gerald Fitzpatrick House, established in 1933 provides a safe, secure home for vulnerable, elderly women in need and is one of the last sub-economic homes left in Johannesburg.

Their dedicated staff provide the necessary care with love, warmth and understanding so as to develop and enhance the quality of life of the residents in their advanced years. Residents all have varying backgrounds and are welcomed irrespective of race and creed. GFH provides care and support with the cooperation of the residents families, the community, supporters as well as limited support from the government.

Friends of Free Wildlife

Friends of Free Wildlife is a community-based, public-funded volunteer organisation. Founded in December 2015, the passionate and qualified wildlife rehabilitators aim to create a well-respected, ethical wildlife rehabilitation centre that provides for the care of urban wildlife.

Friends of Free Wildlife operates under a Rehabilitation Permit granted by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and is a registered non-profit organisation. As well as being endorsed by and working closely with the NSPCA. They rely on the generosity of the public through donations, bequests, sponsorships and voluntary assistance in all aspects of running the organisation.

The Down Syndrome Association (TDSAG)

Down syndrome is the most common and naturally occurring chromosomal genetic condition and is the largest single cause of intellectual disabilities.

Down Syndrome Association Gauteng (TDSAG) through the “Love-Counts” campaign, invites you to become an integral part of developing an Excellence Centre that will unite persons born with Down syndrome and other intellectual and physical disabilities, to be able to grow and develop to their full potential, through equal treatment and fair access to proper skills development and training.
