Roxanne started her scientific journey at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she obtained a BSc in Microbiology & Biotechnology and Genetics & Developmental Biology. She then proceeded to finish top of her BSc Honours class with distinction, with a research project investigating the ability of two heavy metal tolerant bacterial isolates to biologically synthesize gold nanoparticles. There were no previous studies completed using these two bacterial isolates, therefore creating headway for future scientists wishing to further the development of this topic.
In 2015, Roxanne was employed by QPRO SAI Global where she ensured successful management of food safety and quality standards as well as associated risks within many different food sectors by conducting food safety audits. She then moved to AEC Amersham, where she supported the sales team, guided export sales, and acted as the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Representative.
Roxanne joined Diagnostech in 2017 as a Quality and Regulatory Administrator. She has a particular interest in quality control and believes that a good quality approach is the foundation for South Africa’s economic success leading to productive times within the country.
Roxanne enjoys spending time outdoors as well as cooking and baking for her loved ones.
